Contextualized knowledge mapping on steroids. Google just acquired MetaWeb, and this inclusion may just make Google the unbeatable 900 lb gorilla of search engines.
The implications are numerous, but I see a more contextual search within the web based on generalizations that are attached to contextualized entities.
An ingenious idea indeed. We see this approach in Knowledge management products such as TopicScape and The Personal Brain that use relational data bases.
This is also a rather good model for Mind-Visual mapping practices. What do you think?

This is interesting, I agree. I'm trying to find out the implications.
It could be very big indeed, or it could be the sematic web / Cyc / Dmoz / Yahoo directory all over again, which I think involve too much manual intervention to work after the initial enthusiasm wears off.
But Google moving in makes it more likely to come to something, because of their policy that if humans are involved, it doesn't scale, so everything (almost) must be algorithmic.
Looking forward to learning more.

Thanks Wallace for sharing this -- incredible! I love the idea of finding the content I want on a subject so anything that improves those results will be welcome. Very very intriguing.
